Business Journal

Business Journal covered the immensely important work done by our own organization Saved in America and its foundational mission. The mission of Saved in America is singular in nature, to find missing children. This group was created to find missing children who had been lured into the dark underworld of human trafficking or were at risk for being victims of the industry. Throughout San Diego and beyond, SIA works to fight back against this horrific evil.

The Human Trafficking Industry

The human trafficking industry is extraordinarily profitable, amassing $1 billion in revenue. It is backed by a triad of evil consisting of prison gangs, street gangs, and drug cartels. It represents an immense evil, one that is growing throughout the nation and impacting families of all economic levels and situations. Joseph Travers, who is the founder of our organization Saved in America, formed SIA to fight back against the growth of this industry and to find missing kids before they were victimized by the industry.

The Risk of Sexual Exploitation

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children estimates that one in every seven runaways are taken into a human trafficking ring. In addition, some 60% of all runaways are approached by a trafficker within the first 48 hours after they went missing. Thankfully, Saved in America has put its over 30 professional volunteers to work to find missing kids and rescue them from the reality of human trafficking before it's too late. The idea is to fight back against this evil industry as it grows more and more powerful throughout the nation.

Saved in America’s Approach

As outlined in this Business Journal piece, Saved in America utilizes unique techniques that have been modeled to fight back against child sex trafficking throughout the country. Part of this strategy is to focus on missing and runaway children. SIA has shared their methods of tracking down missing and runaway children with various organizations like the Human Smuggling & Trafficking Center in Washington DC, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Naval Special Warfare Command in Coronado, California and many more. SIA works in conjunction with local law enforcement to create a plan of action to rescue a child after their location has been discovered. Saved in America never performs a snatch and grab operation, but instead elicits the help of law enforcement before ever approaching the child.
