The Importance of Safe Adults Outside the Home

Parents play a vital role but they can’t do it alone.

Children also need trusted adults outside the home:

• Coaches

• Teachers

• Mentors

• Family friends

These relationships create additional layers of protection.

Sometimes, a child will open up to someone outside their immediate family first.
