Social media isn’t the enemy.

But it is a tool.

And like any tool it can be used for harm.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children has reported record increases in online exploitation and enticement cases.

Traffickers use:

  • Fake profiles

  • Shared interests

  • Flattery

  • False promises of modeling or money

Many initial contacts now begin online before ever moving offline.

The FBI warns parents to monitor online activity, understand privacy settings, and maintain open dialogue with their children.

The solution is not panic.

It’s education.

Know the apps.
Know the signs.
Know who has access to your child’s digital world.

Technology evolves.

So must our vigilance.
