Star Spangled

KFDI 101.3 in California gives a Star Spangled Salute to worthy organizations to highlight acts of service performed by veterans throughout the state and beyond. It is a way for the station to tell its expansive listeners all about the acts of services performed by veterans after their service to their country has ended. While not exactly the level of the Presidential Medal of Honor, the Star Spangled Salute is still a significant honor, especially for locals.

Saved in America Awarded Star Spangled Salute

Our own Saved in America, an organization created to rescue girls from human trafficking rings, was awarded the Star Spangled Salute due to their veteran volunteers who have continued to give to their country even after retiring from the military. Saved in America was launched in 2014. To date, SIA has overseen the successful rescue of over 200 young girls who were reported missing by their families or other services. Saved in America has an unprecedented success rate of 100%, meaning that every kid that SIA has attempted to rescue that had gone missing was found and rescued.

Veteran Volunteers

The services provided by Saved in America would not be possible without our group of volunteers, many of whom are veterans with specialized military service. Saved in America’s volunteers are actually all specialty trained professionals with high level training in either military or law enforcement or some combination of the two. In addition, all volunteers are also licensed private investigators. This means that after returning home from their service abroad, that the veterans that make up SIA have chosen to give back in another way, one that is just as valuable especially to the families of the missing girls who were found.

Human Trafficking in America

Sadly, organizations like our own at Saved in America are necessary due to the increasing numbers of human trafficking instances in this country. Human trafficking is far from an isolated crime or one that only impacts non-Americans or that takes place in third-world countries. Today, this crime occurs in every state of the United States and impacts all demographics of families. This means that anyone can become a victim of human trafficking due to its immense growth and heightened power. Therefore, the service that these veterans perform as part of Saved in America, the service that earned them the Star Spangled Salute, is well-earned!
