America Trends II

In the second part of the America Trends interview by Aimee Fuller, Joseph Travers continues his interview sharing insider information about human trafficking in general and Saved in America's efforts towards fighting back against it in particular. In the Bible, Genesis 50:20 states “As for you, you meant it for evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring about that many people should be kept alive.” This verse is descriptive of the evil that gangs mean for kids in terms of human trafficking and the good that God will create out of it.

Brittanee Drexel’s Story

The story of Brittanee Drexel and the evil she faced at the hands of sex offenders had an immense impact on the start of Saved in America. Founder Joseph Travers explains in his interview with Fuller that he was personally moved by this case and felt that it was necessary to create an organization whose sole purpose was to fight back against the terrors of human trafficking within the borders of America.

The Process of Getting Help

When a family finds themselves in the nightmarish situation of their child being missing, they should first contact the police. Saved in America was not created to take the place of law enforcement but to work in conjunction with law enforcement. Families should contact law enforcement first and then contact Saved in America. Then, a case will be opened for that child and the team of professional volunteers will begin creating a rescue plan by using various resources like social media investigations and more to discern where the missing child is located. After this, Saved in America will notify law enforcement and let them oversee the actual rescue of the child.

After The Rescue, Saved in America Continues to Help

Saved in America continues to offer help to families even after their child is rescued from their situation. Often, this consists of getting them the help they need to recover in the form of safe housing, counseling, or both. It can also include help for them in terms of getting legal advice, hopefully putting the predators behind bars where they belong. All of this is done free of charge, making donations and fundraising efforts vitally important to the furtherance of the group’s efforts.
